Alma 48:17

"Verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men." - Alma 48:17

Got a Date...

Heyo!

This week has been crazy! First off, dang my mom is the best, she sent my guitar....AWESOME! I love playin’ it, all church hymns of course (; Cool thing that happened this week was that I got to ride in a Tesla! It was so nice.  There is pretty much a computer screen on the dash board! And it goes 0-60 in a blink, so cool. Also, last pday we got to go to a place like Airborne for a couple hours for free.  A member owns it so he just lets the missionaries come.

Missionary work wise we got our first baptismal date! It’s with a 17 year old. She goes to church every week and early morning seminary.  It’s awesome. She’s going to be baptized on October 10th so I’ll keep ya updated on that! Also our other investigator came to church for the 2nd week in a row so that was cool.  She brought her 14 yr old daughter with her too, so she’s doin missionary work already and she’s not even a member, haha! But this week is transfers and I got the call and I’m stayin in Mission Viejo! Another 6 weeks here for Elder Crumpy! I’ve gotten close to the ward and the investigators, so I think that's the best for me. But other than that it’s been goin great.  Still hotter than heck too.

Funny story, the other day I was sitting at a stop light and I look over and there was this lady and she was lint rolling her nose...not sure what the heck was up with that but I was bustin’ a gut!!! Love ya’ll, have a good one!

Some other things from his family email:

His comment on Elder Scott, "Yeah, I've read 3 of his talks this week.  He's straight fire!"

Zach's 6th grade teacher was Mr. McLeod and his sister and brother-in-law live in the Alicia Park ward where Zach works.  He said that Bro. Smith is in ward council every week and will chat with him about the connection because he had no idea they were related.

The best way to find new people to teach is member referrals.  They don't tract much.

"Zach Counsel"...go on a mission.  You'll never regret it.

Lovin' his hammock.

Rain?

Ay Fam!

So if I remember correctly, last Tuesday it was like a hurricane hit Mission Viejo! It came in sheets and sheets of rain and it rained from about 2am till about 11am and then there was flooding and what not everywhere. So that was pretty intense, but heaven knows we need it!

Anywho, like I said last week, we picked up 4 new investigators! That was awesome. Two are a recently married couple and the other is a mom and her 14 year old daughter. I really believe that the Lord prepared them.  They want to live a higher standard and she wants to have a purpose in life and all that. She is the golden investigator!! And to cap it all off she came to church yesterday! So awesome! We are also helping her fix her fence. We put in new posts and we put up a new part of her fence that had rotted. Also we painted a whole section of her fence so now it looks top notch!

I had a chance to go on exchanges this week. So I got a new companion for a day. He came out the same time I did, so it was a straight Greenie Fire, lol! We did some door knocking and taught some lessons, then fixed the fence! It was an awesome day!

We had Zone Conference last week and we had Elder Cardon from the First Quorum of the Seventy come. He was good but it was super long! It was only 2 hours short of a full two day General Conference! Super long but good at the same time!

I got a chance to go on a temple tour with one of my investigators last week too. Man that was cool! The spirit was awesome. Funny/cool things that happened this week, I saw an ambulance get into a car crash, kinda scary but comical cause the medic people hopped out and were helping the people they hit!

I was dancing in the rain on Tuesday singing of Merica and we got to go down to Laguna Beach to celebrate an elder’s birthday last pday and I remembered my camera so I got some pictures!

Have a great week!!

Miracles all around

Well this week has been insane. First off, as of today, I count that I have eaten a total of 53 bagels since I got to California. That is literally all I have for breakfast and lunch.

Other news this week, we got 4 new investigators, which is unreal! We haven't had any new ones for over a month, then this week we got 4! So cool.

This past Friday was September 11th. I remember I was sitting at home sick with the flute (that's what I called it, I was 4) that day, and watching the news. I wore my American flag tie on Friday, and I couldn't have been more proud. I love America. If it weren't for George and them we wouldn't be here, and we wouldn't be able to have freedom of religion. I am so thankful for them.

I have 2 minutes before I get kicked off this computer but I love this gospel and I love being able to serve! Have a great week!

Crispy

Yo!
Another hot week here! It was 102 degrees yesterday! But it was good cause it was pday so we went to a park and played baseball, soccer and frisbee and volleyball.  It was way fun but I got scorched! Haha

Some cool things that happened this week:
We got to help a non-member move! It took me and my comp all day and multiple trips back and forth but it was great because now she is willing to listen to our message cause of our service. It is really hard to find new investigators down here and we go contacting and tracting all the time but without any success, it’s really frustrating.  But yesterday morning we got a phone call and it was a referral! Which never happens. It was amazing. If we are willing to put in the effort the Lord will help us out with the rest!
On Sunday night we had a musical devotional at the stake center by the temple and it was awesome! We had multiple people sing and the spirit was so strong it was like a ton of bricks, haha.  But then after I walked outside and the sun was setting on the temple and it was the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen. I snagged a couple of pictures! Yesterday was pday like I said, but for dinner we went over to a part member family’s house and he had smoked ribs for us! They were sooo good! So you could say my Labor Day was pretty sweet! Hope ya’ll have a great week!

After the Temple Music Devotional the missionaries took visitors on a tour of the temple grounds.
Zach visited with this man who came to church on Sunday after not attending for many years.

His obsession with mirror selfies continues.
I think this is suppose to show his crispy sunburn :0)
