Alma 48:17

"Verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men." - Alma 48:17

Welp this could potentially be my last week here in Newport! (Transfers are next week and he’s been in Newport for six months.)

Things here are going pretty good, yesterday we had a couple less actives and an investigator at sacrament. Then yesterday the sisters had a baptism and a member from the ward that plays on the basketball team at UCI (University of California Irvine) came and brought a friend.  He is super cool!

But other things that happened this week…we had zone conference, and I got to go on an exchange with elder Rubon! He is from the Marshall Islands. He is an awesome missionary and we had a riot together. It was weird because we actually had dinner at someone’s house!! It’s a Christmas Miracle!!!

Elder Rubon was fascinated with the ferry so we took a little cruise across the harbor.  It was a sweet day! Other than that, it was just hittin’ the grind all day.

Love y’all and have a fantastic week!

Dropping your anchor in Christ

Hey Y’all!

This week was a pretty good one. We got to go do some cool things.

On Monday night we got to go to FHE and we played games at a member's house, so we played spoons and Mafia and all that good stuff. Tuesday was kinda lame because we found out our investigator only comes to church to "see all the blondes". So hopefully we can get him back on track this week. Wednesday we had Zone Training Meeting and I gave a training on ‘Dropping your anchor in Christ’, and so I told a story about a ship and stuff.  But before, I had everybody make sailor hats! It was pretty funny. Saturday we had something pretty cool happen, the Spanish sisters from the other mission found us a new potential investigator.  We taught him the Restoration, and he liked it a lot.  Hopefully we can meet up with him again this week. Also, we went over to a less active's house and cut his hair.  Yes, you could call me a professional barber :0)

That’s about it for this week hope y’all have a spirit filled week!

BOOOYAA!

Hey Y’all, this week was a long one.

We got to teach our new investigator, it was an awesome lesson. Didn’t set a baptismal date yet but soon enough. Other than that we just went around and contacted people, trying find the elect! 501 contacts this week.

I had the chance to go on an exchange and it was awesome. I got put with 2 bran new missionaries! New missionaries are the best. Why you may ask? Because they have the faith, and they expect things to happen. They expect to find people and they expect to baptize them. So we had a rockin’ day, but we hadn’t found anybody to teach yet and the day was almost over. So we are at Back Bay talkin and we are gettin nothin. Then it was about time for us to go and I see a lady in a red dress way out there and I say ‘Hey we will go talk to that lady, then we will dip and head home.’ Come to find out, it was a dude in a red tank top! But we ended up teaching him and committing him to come to church the next day!  BOOOYAA!!! It was good because they were feelin a little down cause they hadn’t taught anyone all day. Miracles.

Also we were at UCI and the LA Rams were having practice there at the sports complex and so we strolled by and saw them for a couple minutes.  They are some big boys.

Yesterday was cool because we had 2 random people show up to church. So hopefully we can hook up with them this week and teach them!

That’s all for me. Later, have a great week!

Kinda rainy today, which is sweet because we are in a super bad drought.  Good thing I’m not living here for the rest of my life. I’m not trynna die of thirst.

Anywho, this week was good, we actually found somebody to teach!!!!!!! YAHOOOO!!! If you wanna get technical, the sisters found him, but we are teachin him now. So that was sweet.  He’s gonna get baptized hopefully the first week of September.

This week I hit my year mark.  That was another miracle by itself! I’ve learned a ton, but I still got a lot more to do and learn.  Still rookie status. Another cool things this week is that the Orange County Fair has been goin on right by our apartment. People get crazy there. So we like to go down there at the end of the night and talk to people, they are some interesting cats down there.

That’s about it for this week.  I did go back and get Horchata...probably more than I should have.  I just gotta get them tender mercies in while I can! Haha!

Love ya, have a great week!

Ohh, I'm Half Way There...Ohh, Livin' On a Prayer!

This week here has been a pretty good one.

Still having trouble finding people to teach. Contacting is fun because you never know what people are gonna say. So we did that.

We had a little miracle though...we were in Santa Ana and we were walkin round for a couple hours and I needed a drink, so we stop in at this 7-11 and I walk past the fountain drink and low and behold they have Horchata!! I got a super double big gulp of it and it was the best Horchata I’ve ever had in my life, tender mercies. God blesses us when we work hard.

We got to clean the temple again this week and I got to vacuum all the edges in the temple.  So wherever the wall and the carpet meet I had to use my Ghost Buster Vacuum and vacuum it up. It was pretty sweet cause I gotta go everywhere in the temple again.

That’s it for the week love y’all!
