Alma 48:17

"Verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men." - Alma 48:17

Another week down here. It was a solid one with lots of good stuff.

We had Stake Conference and the Saturday night session was insane. One thing that really hit me like a ton of bricks what this lady who spoke on "cut down humor".  Which is when you say something to be funny but at the expense of "cutting" somebody down or saying something degrading. She was intense and stared everyone down and said STOP IT NOW. So I was like, ‘Dang you best be stoppin that, now’. So that’s something I’m going to be working on this week.

We were knocking doors and we found a house full of Marines this week. They were busy but said we could come back and so we did.  We talked to one of them for 45ish minutes about Marines stuff and a bit of the gospel.

But this was probably the most life changing of all, dinner last night :0) The mom was out so the dad was in charge.  So he said to make a pb&j sandwich so I did. He then took my sandwich and drenched it in pancake batter...and put it on the skillet and cooked all 6 sides of the sandwich. It is literally a gift from the gods. Changed my life and my waistline for sure last night.

Anywho, that's it for me this week!
Love y’all, until next week, peace.

Rain, rain and more rain...

Crazy week!

It rained so much the past couple of days!! Yesterday there were a couple trees that toppled over cause the ground was too wet and then the wind came. It’s been fun.

We got to teach some people this week! We found two families. One is a part member family.  The dad wants his wife and son to take the lessons.  It went great. The other is a former investigator and he said to come back when his whole family was there to teach them! So things are lookin pretty good for next week.

This morning we went on a hike down to the ocean and then we went to the Pier.  Later on in the day when we got some sunshine. The ocean was crazy because of the storms. So that was cool. On Saturday we were walking around all day and I got sunburned.  Yes, y’all can be jealous.

San Clemente...

Hey ya'll!

Been a great 1st week here in San Clemente. I love it. The ward is awesome and the work is goin good.

We visited a lot of members this week so they could meet the "new guy" - me, and they seem to just love missionaries even if it is me. The ward is literally on the side of a mountain so everything is uphill. We went to the Stake President’s home for a Zone mtg. this week and his house is HUGE, biggest house I’ve ever been in.  So, so nice.

I got to go to ARP (Addiction Recovery Program-run by the Church) this week for the first time.  We just helped out. Dang those meetings are amazing! They are so powerful and you can definitely feel the Savior’s love for everyone.

Yesterday morning we went on a hike early in the a.m. so that way we could see the sunrise.  We get to the top and it was all cloudy so it was a good thought, but alas we started our day with disappointment.

Anywho this week is lookin like it’ll be a good one, lots of teaching hopefully and we have Zone Conference too.

So hope you all have a great week! Love ya'll!

Transfers...

Welp folks,

I’m San Clemente bound! I got transferred today, and I’m pretty sad. The ward I was in was the best. Yesterday we stopped by the whole ward I felt like just because we loved all of them and wanted to see them. Super sad to leave them.

But anywho, the week was good. We did some service for an old guy, cleanin up his backyard that was a mess, raking leaves, trimming bushes and stuff like that. The picture is of me just before I dove into his pool.  It was a nice swim.

We got to meet with our investigator 3 days in a row this week cause he was sad we were leaving. But we taught him the Restoration, which was a miracle because he never wanted to listen to a lesson before.  And then we taught him about the Book of Mormon.  Miracles, that’s for sure.

That’s about it for me!
Love y’all have a good week!
