Alma 48:17

"Verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men." - Alma 48:17

Hey Y’all,

Not much to report on this week, it was a slow one.

One cool experience. We were out contacting people and we contacted this lady and she actually said that she would be interested in learning more!  So we went over the next day and taught her the Restoration, wahoo!!! The only thing is she’s not YSA, so we passed her off to the other ward.

But other than that, this week was just a whole lot of finding. Transfers are this week, and I’ll be staying another transfer in Newport. As a district we made t-shirts. Our theme for the transfer was Matthew 10:16 which says "Be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves".

But that’s it for me. Keep it red, white and blue.

He's got our back.

Fast, fast week. I feel like I was here yesterday writing an email.

We had some cool things this week.  Last Monday we were walkin round the peninsula tryin to find a referral, and this kid comes out and says, “Hey y’all want some pizza?” So we said sure and we went in and him and his girlfriend were makin pizza. We crashed their date night and taught them about the Book of Mormon. It was awesome, and it was the first time that I had ever had bananas on pizza before.  Don’t knock it before you try it people.

I went on a couple of exchanges this week too.  On one I was with the two elders we live with and we visited a lady that hadn’t been to church in a while. She answered the door and was stressin hardcore about tons of stuff, and then her daughter calls her and tells her that she had crashed hardcore on her bike.  It was craziness.  And to add onto all of that it was her birthday, and everyone had forgot.  So when we left, we went home and made her a cake! You could tell it was made by elders, haha. But hey, she loved it!

The other exchange I went on was with Elder Jones! He’s the best. We had an awesome day.  We walked around Santa Ana all day long. Got scorched! At the end of the day we got into a bash with the homeless punk about works and if they save us and all that jazz. And after we left we were talkin, and the only reason why we are out here is cause we love Jesus. That is the only reason. Because of Him EVERYTHING else is possible. He’s got our back on everything no matter what.

Then to end the week, yesterday Johnny was ordained a Priest and got the Priesthood! Wahoo!! And also for the next 2 weeks the Newport Temple is closed for cleaning, and the missionaries get to help clean it.  So we were there this morning, and we get to go again Saturday and a couple times next week too. So sick.

Love y’all have a good one!

Workin and Preachin...

Another sunny week here! It was a little slow, most of the people we had appointments with bailed on us, but it was still a pretty good week.

For District Meeting we played Human Battleship with water balloons to practice memorizing things.  That was a riot!  It pretty much turned into an all out water balloon fight.

Yesterday was a good day, we had Elder Weatherford Clayton of the 70 come speak in our ward.  He is good friends with our Bishop. He talked about missionary work and of course I was pumped because I’m a missionary, haha. He said something that was cool to me. (referring to bad movies and stuff like that) "You’ll never see it in heaven, so why do you need to see it now?" I thought that was an interesting thought.

But then yesterday afternoon we got the assignment to go sit under a shade tent by the Newport Beach Temple and welcome people to the Temple and to give them pass along cards and pamphlets and stuff like that. While we were chillin there a girl in her 20's came up and we started chattin and we asked her what she did for work, and she said she was a "performer" at Disneyland. We got it out of her that she was a Disney princess!! She couldn’t tell us which one or she could get fired but, I saw a Disney princess yesterday!  All my childhood dreams came true!! haha

Hope you all have a great week! Welcome home to my brother too this week on Thursday! Love y’all!

I asked Zachary to send some pictures that I could possibly use to make a cardboard stand-up of him for Cami's wedding.  I sent the tie and suspenders and this is what he sent back for me to work with...

God Bless America!!!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

This week was stellar. Started off with some service, and it was a lot more then what we bargained for. We helped someone move...a gym. So imagine the gym nearby and you having to move all that out and into a storage unit. That’s what we did Tuesday. It was insane, talk about spending all day at the gym, lol!

The rest of the week was good too, but the real good stuff happened yesterday. Started off with a nice relaxing morning with some studies about the good ole Promised Land. We then cruised on over to a park and I took my hammock and I took a nice nap, very relaxing. Then we went home and filled water balloons for about 3 hours. It was sooo many water balloons. We then proceeded to a member’s house for dinner.  We played some Rummikube and other things of that nature. It was a riot. Then we had a Zone activity at the church, and I brought the water balloons...it was the most glorious water balloon fight ever. Fireworks were goin’ off around us as we were soaking each other.  Oh man it prime-time! After that we headed home and we took a detour down by Back Bay and they had some crazy fireworks goin off.  The finale was the best.  I had ever seen, red white and blue everywhere!   I swear I could see Uncle Sam up there above smilin’ down on ‘em. Then we played with some sparklers back at the apartment after.

Legendary for sure. That’s all for me. Have a great week!!
