Alma 48:17

"Verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men." - Alma 48:17

Many Miracles...

Howdy y’all!

This week has been an interesting one to say the least. The elders before us left us with pretty much nothing to do and nobody to teach, so we were just trying to go around and visit all the members in the ward.

We were on our way to meet our bishop on Wednesday and we get a call from some sister missionaries that are doing temple tours and they said there is a guy down there that wants to meet with us! So we buzz down there and meet Kentaro. He is about 6'4" and he is super nice and he just wanted to learn more. So we walked over to the temple and we sat down right there by the fountain and we taught him a lesson on the temple grounds, man was that was sweet. Then our bishop showed up and met him and talked to him a little bit. The next day we went over and taught him the Plan of Salvation, and he’s gonna get baptized on the 16th! Heck yes!! And he came to church yesterday so that was even better.

Church in the singles ward was interesting. We started sacrament 10 minutes late and we ended 10 minutes early. And the second hour we had a lesson on choosing the right person and engagement.  So ya know, I guess it’s never too early to start preparing?

Other cool news this week. On Tuesday President Orgill texted me and said that our investigator from my last area got permission from the First Presidency to be baptized!! So she is gonna get baptized on the 17th (Zach gets to go back to Mission Viejo to perform the baptism).  Man crazy miracles!

We see nice cars all over the place.  I’ve seen about 4 McLaren's, 8 Lamborghinis and tons of Ferraris, Bentleys, BMW i8s, and Audi r8s. They are everywhere. One of the members owns a Challenger Hellcat and he took us for a ride, so that was sweet.

One thing that is not a miracle is our dinner calendar...lol.  We have 2 dinner appointments for this transfer (that’s 6 weeks). I guess it’s the Lord’s way of makin’ me lose some weight. But....we do have a pond full of ducks in our backyard, so we may be havin’ duck this week...

Welp that's all I got. Have a great week y’all!

Transfer Fever...It's Terminal

Welp folks, out on the move, outta Mission Veijo and I’m going to the Newport Coast YSA ward! Heck yes! It’ll be awesome and I’m stoked to be by the ocean because it’ll be cooler, haha.

But this week was sweet but sad all at the same time. We got to go to the temple with Sydney for the first time, and it was good to see her go and she loved it! It was an awesome way to end the transfer, BAM.

So yesterday and today are goodbye days so I’ll shed many thug tears. I stared packin’ yesterday and I counted 14 freedom flyers I’ve gotta pack...I might have to get a separate suitcase just for them, lol.

That's all for this week, don't have a whole lotta time, so hope you have a great week!

San Juan Capistrano & a "Mormal"

Pretty all right week this week.

Yesterday I got to confirm Sydney in sacrament meeting and that was pretty sweet. She’s official now!

This week the Stake did this dance called “Mormal” and is a Mormon formal. So all the priests ask the laurels and then they eat dinner at someone's house in the ward.  Then the whole stake, combined with 2 other stakes, go to a dance somewhere! So Lurey and I helped with the dinner. We were bouncers at the door and waiters.  It was a Great Gatsby theme and it was super fun.

Also on Saturday we went and marched as the Mormon Battalion at the Swallows Day Parade in San Juan Capistrano, so that was fun but I got sunburnt to no end!

That's about it for this week! Next week is transfers so I’ll probably have to say bye-bye to Mission Viejo, which will be sad but good at the same time!

Have a great week!

Update...

Zachary didn't send a general letter this week but here is what he wrote in our family email:

Yesterday was sooooo awesome! The best day of the mission so far.  Sydney got baptized and I got to do it!  Man she is just amazing.  She is so happy and she loves the gospel and loves the people.  It was number 1!  Then we went and fixed a fridge, haha!

So here is Zachary's letter he actually sent today:

Hey y'all.

The reason this email is comin' a day late is cause the fire alarm went off in the library yesterday and they kicked us all out, haha! So I've gotta be quick today. This week was amazing! We had Sydney's baptism and it was the best baptism I've been to!! Pretty much the whole ward showed up, her seminary class came and most of her family! The spirit was strong and it was just top notch!

It also rained yesterday really hard so that was good for the drought. I felt alright about taking a long shower now because it rained so much. Other than that everything else in the week was pretty lame so that's it for me this week!

Love y'all, have a good one!
