Alma 48:17

"Verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men." - Alma 48:17

Trump Rally...

Weird week this week that's for sure!

One crazy thing this week was they had a Donald Trump rally at the OC Fair grounds which is pretty close to us and things got a little crazy...we drove by and there were people blocking the road with signs and people messin’ with cop cars and destroying them. People wavin’ Mexican Flags around.  There were about 5 helicopters flyin’ round. I had an American Flag on our car and people were hootin and hollerin at us.  Let’s just say we got the heck outta there real quick!

We helped this guy out moving.  We moved him from Dana Point to Balboa Island.  He is doing quite well to say the least, but cool thing was that he flew helicopters in the Marines! So it was cool to chat him up and talk about the gospel with him because he wasn't a member.

Missionary work wise this week has been slow.  We don't have anybody to teach so we have just been talking to tons and tons of people.  But ya know it the usual ‘No not today’ or ‘No I don't need God.’ Interesting to say the least...but as long as I know it’s true I’m all good!

Last night we got to do temple security too.  We just basically walk around the temple for an hour and make sure no hooligans cause any problems!

That's it for me this week! Love y'all!

Farewell dinner for Zachary's trainer Elder Robinson (front row, right end)
and the other missionaries in his group.
Each departing elder was able to choose two people to invite to
the dinner and testimony meeting.

Erin Baxter sent this picture.  She ran into Zachary at the
Newport Beach Temple while he was doing his
security stint.

Another group picture.

What a nut!

Howdy Y’all!

Another week down and out here in Newport. This week was pretty sweet. We had a fireside that was done by Gladys Knight and the Saints Unified Voices on Thursday night and man Sister Knight can bring it down! Well, they had 2 firesides, one started at 9 pm and that's the one I got to go to, so we rolled up at home at about 12:30, which is pretty late for a missionary, lol. I also got to meet Elder Gifford Nielson of the 70 there. That was neat.

We also got to go down to Mission Viejo again this week to confirm Heidi and then stay for another baptism. She had been taught by missionaries for 2 years! Then just before I left we set a baptism date with her.  And it was good to see Sister Smead get baptized by her husband.

We did some contacting this week and it got kinda boring cause there wasn't anybody round so I decided to seek out the righteous and climb a tree...but alas nothing came of it, I didn't find the righteous.

That's all for me for this week folks! Have a great week! Love y’all!

Buttery

Welp, this week takes the cake! It was the best weekend I’ve had so far on the mish.

Friday we got to go to the temple. Like always, it was stellar. Then on Saturday Kentaro was baptized, he is awesome.  It was buttery :0) Then on Sunday Kentaro got confirmed, we actually had a dinner appointment - first one in a week. Then Heidi was baptized that night! Talk about gettin’ wammy kablammied with the spirit! Funny part of this story, we get to Heidi’s baptism, and I missed the part where I was assigned to give the talk on the Holy Ghost...so as I went up there I was prayin’ my heart out sayin’ ‘Heavenly Father I need your help. I don’t want to look like a fool up here!’ I went up there and I just had to wing it. It was probably one of the best talks I’ve given and I have no idea what it was I even said when I try and remember it! Spirit for sure right there! A little Alma 26:12 right there!

Anywho, I went on a raw diet this week and I lost 15 lbs so that was cool too! lol

Welp, that’s all for this week.  Have a great one peeps!

Balboa Island...beautiful!

Howdy Y’all!!

This week has been pretty alright.  We have been teachin’ and preachin’ the Good Word.

A lot of cool things have happened.  Kentaro, our investigator is gettin’ baptized on Saturday!!! We went on a little jog with him on the Balboa boardwalk on the peninsula from pier to pier.  It’s 4 miles there and back...my body did not like that...I was sweatin’ and pantin’ and they are just prancin’ around like it’s nothin’...

Anywho, we got some rain here too, so that was a miracle. I went on exchanges with the ZL here and he is from the Philippines and he is awesome. We were drivin’ around all day stoppin’ by people. Not entirely sure it was legal, but we took the Balboa Island Ferry that takes you from Balboa Island to Balboa Peninsula. It was pretty sweet and only 3 bucks!

This week should be awesome!  We get to go to the temple and Kentaro is gettin’ baptized and Heidi, from my last ward, is gettin’ baptized Sunday, too!  So it should be a sweet week.

Hope y’all have a great week!
